Beautiful words about an inspiring event. Thank you so much for the gorgeous videos, too. Brilliant work. Sending great hugs and huge gratitude to you all. (And yes, I have sent some $$ too!)
Great piece! And I love that video to the LGBs so much! I found it on the LGBT Courage Coalition YouTube for sharing to people. It would be great if the video to progressives and liberals mentioned could also be uploaded to YouTube for me to share with people. I don’t use any other social media and YouTube feels most accessible for those that don’t want to join X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc.
Thank you for all you do. I have listened to Jamie Reed's speech and recounting of the day in various fora and am so moved by her - and the coalition's - grace. Keep up the great work!
You are where I was a year ago. You should come join us for an action in 2025! Joining up with the Courage Coalition has been a big positive in my life and it feels so empowering to be surrounded by so many good people who just want to save kids from this horror.
How do you know the kids are gay and not trans? You don’t even know who they are! You are all about banning procedures that some people need without any knowledge of their particular and specific circumstances. You are about making illegal medical care that other people want and need without knowing anything about them.
Joanie, thank you for your question. Here’s the fundamental issue: the only way to know whether a child’s gender dysphoria will persist into adulthood is to let puberty happen. The data consistently show that the vast majority of children with gender dysphoria—studies suggest upwards of 80%—will desist after puberty and many will grow up to be happy, well-adjusted gay or lesbian adults. By medicalizing these children before they’ve had a chance to mature, we risk permanently altering bodies and foreclosing futures based on feelings that often change over time.
No one disputes that some adults may decide that transitioning is the right path for them, and they should have that choice. But children cannot meaningfully consent to lifelong medical interventions, especially when the outcomes are still poorly understood. These decisions have profound consequences—sterility, loss of sexual function, and lifelong dependence on cross-sex hormones—that many detransitioners deeply regret.
This isn’t about denying care; it’s about protecting vulnerable kids from irreversible decisions they may not fully understand. Waiting isn’t harmful. Rushing, however, can be devastating. Let kids grow up first, then let them decide as informed adults what they truly need.
Waiting is harmful. I know. I was forced to live as someone I was not from age 5 until adulthood. You have absolutely no idea of the harm that caused me. Nor do you appear to care about the trans kids who will have to suffer for years to adulthood. You didn’t cite any study to support your data, and there are plenty of studies reaching a contrary result. At the end of the day it should be up to the people involved to get the health care that they want. It shouldn’t be up to a group with an agenda to prevent other people from doing what they decide is best for their lives.
“Trumpism was never about making America great again. It’s about weaponizing your fear and resentment. Immigrants, women daring to expect control over their own bodies, trans kids, and “wokeness”—these weren’t your enemies until he told you they were. Trumpism isn’t about policy, principles, or progress; it’s a spectacle, a theater of grievance where you gleefully cast yourself as the victim while ignoring the real threats tearing this country apart.”

I will see if I can’t make that happen.
Gracias!
