URGENT: Send Testimony on SJ35 — Protect a State Constitution — Women’s Rights and Safeguard Children
A public hearing on SJ35 is scheduled for Friday, February 7, at 12 PM in Room 2B of the Legislative Office Building, Hartford, CT.
This resolution aims to codify gender identity and gender ideology protections into the Connecticut Constitution, which would erase women as a sex category and pave the way for irreversible harm to children through “gender-affirming care” (GAC).

Why This Matters
If passed, this resolution would:
Allow gender identity to replace sex-based protections for women and girls.
Codify policies allowing men in women's sports, prisons, and other sex-segregated spaces.
Prevent laws that restrict or ban harmful GAC for minors, making it nearly impossible to protect children from irreversible medicalization. This is our opportunity to force a critical discussion in the Connecticut Capitol and make legislators hear from those who oppose these harmful policies.
How You Can Help
We need everyone — constituents, clergy, legislators, policy experts, detransitioners, transitioners, and LGB individuals — to send testimony.

Analysis of SJ35
This resolution is the first step toward embedding gender ideology into the Connecticut Constitution. Once gender identity is used in the definition of “sex discrimination,” it will erase protections for women as a sex category and cement harmful practices like:
Men in women's sports, prisons, and shelters.
Easier access for minors to irreversible gender medicalization (puberty blockers, hormones, surgeries).
Sweeping restrictions on future legislative efforts to protect women and children.
