On June 26, 2025, the New Hampshire House and Senate gave final approval to House Bill 377 (HB 377) and House Bill 712 (HB 712), sending both bills to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s desk for her signature. Your incredible efforts—testifying at hearings, writing heartfelt letters, rallying in Concord, traveling to make your voices heard, and standing resolute against fierce opposition— propelled these bills to this pivotal moment. These measures, which protect minors from irreversible medical interventions, are one signature away from becoming law. We’re so close, but we need your help to ensure Governor Ayotte signs these bills and secures a safer future for NH youth.

HB 377 prohibits healthcare providers from administering puberty blockers and hormone treatments to minor. HB 712 bans “top” surgeries for minors, allowing exceptions only for specific medical conditions like cancer, and has also reached Governor Ayotte after passing both chambers earlier this session. She now has five days from the moment the bills are officially received from the Secretary of State to sign, veto, or allow them to become law without action. This is our moment to act decisively.
Your passion has been the driving force behind this progress. From sharing personal stories at committee hearings to braving long journeys to the State House, you’ve shown what it means to fight for our children’s well-being. These bills protect kids from experimental treatments like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries that lack long-term evidence, giving them time to grow and make informed choices as adults. Your courage in the face of opposition has brought us here, and we’re deeply grateful for every moment you’ve invested in this cause.

HB 377 and HB 712 are about giving kids the chance to mature without the pressure of unproven medical procedures. By setting clear protections, we’re ensuring New Hampshire stands up for the next generation. With the U.S. Supreme Court recently upholding Skrmetti, our cause is bolstered by precedent. We’re so close to making these protections law, but we can’t ease up now.

I tried to make it personalized but brief as possible while remaining meaningful. I hope it evades simply being put in the pile for the Yeses. Even if it still just goes into the staff's count of the Favors and Opposes, I'll feel like I did something, however small, to protect the kids from these charlatans.
Done, and I have restacked. Thank you all so, so much for all the hard work you have put into this. I have also contributed to Jonah Wheeler’s reelection campaign and have sent out a substack note encouraging others to do so as well.
(PS: is there a typo in the last reference to HB377: “HBl 377 and HB 712 are about giving kids the chance to mature”?)
